大家經(jīng)常誤以為“on the one hand”和“on the other hand”之間有遞進或者并列的關系。事實上,這一對短語一般是用于提出兩個相反的事物和看法(introduce two contrasting points, facts, or ways of looking at something)。
On the one hand, if the body doesn't have enough cholesterol, we would not be able to survive. On the other hand, if the body has too much cholesterol, the excess begins to harden the arteries.
On the one hand, fast food is not as nutritious as the food cooked in traditional ways. On the other, fast food might have a profound impact on the bond between people.
我們可以用besides, furthermore, what’s more, moreover, in addition這樣的詞來代表“再者”,“此外”等意思。
