幾個人在樓頂做實驗，向發(fā)射激光光束，觀察反射情況，如果發(fā)生就證明1960年宇航員放上去的反射器確實存在。Leonard去叫Penny來觀賞，結(jié)果Penny的新男友Zack也在，他表示很有興趣，就一起上來了。

Zack的知識匱乏得令人吃驚，他竟然以為他們能夠炸掉月球，Sheldon充分鄙視了他的智商，說這種人正好配Penny。再然后Zack又暴露了對常識的無知，Sheldon斷定他連Penny也配不上。Penny很沒臉，拉著Zack趕緊走了。

當晚Leonard被Penny意外敲門，喝醉了的Penny表示要找他算賬，他毀了自己容忍傻逼的能力——本來Zack挺好的一人，在今晚之前Penny從來沒發(fā)現(xiàn)他這么蠢過——Penny決定與Leonard激情一下，Leonard樂得笑納，Sheldon表示嘆氣。

第二天早上Penny沒打招呼就偷偷溜走了。Leonard想再約，被拒絕，Leonard想不通，裝喝醉像Penny那樣去找對方，結(jié)果被推出門外。他去找Leslie，同樣被拒之門外。

與此同時，Raj和Howard正幫Sheldon注冊網(wǎng)上交友，看能不能通過算法給他找到一個適合的伴侶。結(jié)果網(wǎng)站還真推薦了一個名叫Amy的女博士，但問題是Sheldon不肯去。最后Raj使出殺手锏，說把樓頂發(fā)現(xiàn)的那只臟襪子藏到他們公寓某處了，他不去就不告訴他在哪。有強迫癥的Sheldon只好就范，來到約會地點，對方跟Sheldon打招呼，一本正經(jīng)的說話方式和Sheldon如出一轍，Sheldon頓時熱情起來，要請Amy喝飲料……Raj和Howard在一旁目瞪口呆。
