This is about a story called The Town Musicians of Bremen. There are four main characters in this story which were just like the four in The Journey to the West. They were going on a pilgrimage for Buddhist scriptures. The characters in both stories changed their destiny, going on an interesting trip to their dream place.
At first, a donkey ran away from his master, for he would be slaughtered to be his master's dinner. He decided to go to Bremen, being a town musician.
On his way to Bremen, he met a hound lying on the road, panting seriously. The donkey thought that he had run a long way. He then asked the hound why do you look so tired. The hound told the donkey that he was getting older, his master would kill him when he cannot run one day. After knowing the encounter of the hound, the donkey invited him to leave with him to Bremen. Then they set off.
They then came across a cat and a cockerel. As same as the hound, they were in danger being killed by their master as well. So they ran away with the donkey.
That night, they found a wonderful house in the forest. But there is a band of robbers in it. So they drove them away from their own efforts and lived there happily forever.
I think this story is very true. The robbers had a guilty conscience. The four characters stabbed the weakest part of the robbers and made them afraid to come back forever. They were super wise, intelligently driving the robbers in an artful way.
Dreams will come true anyways, but not always in the ways that you expected. The four characters didn't go to Bremen at the end, having said that they still achieve the goal of being happy and live continued life. Therefore, do the things we have to do in present, and the best thing will come to us someday.
