used to,would表示過(guò)去習(xí)慣性動(dòng)作,可譯為“過(guò)去常?!?/b>
1)used to可指過(guò)去的狀態(tài)或情況,would則不能。
The novel used to be popular.
那本小說(shuō)過(guò)去很流行
2)would表示反復(fù)發(fā)生的動(dòng)作。如果某一動(dòng)作沒(méi)有反復(fù)性,就不能用would,只能用used to。
He would practise English every week.
他過(guò)去每周都練習(xí)英語(yǔ)
I used to live in Beijing.
我過(guò)去住在北京
3)used to表示過(guò)去經(jīng)常性或習(xí)慣性的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)結(jié)束,would則表示有可能再發(fā)生。
