Unthrifty loveliness, why dost thou spend

Upon thyself thy beauty's legacy?

有美一人，不知儉省;揮霍麗質(zhì)，不傳于世。

Nature's bequest gives nothing but doth lend,

And being frank she lends to those are free.

造化鐘靈，不贈(zèng)只借;率意不吝，予于閑人。

Then, beauteous niggard, why dost thou abuse

The bounteous largess given thee to give?

慳嗇佳人，何故浪擲，豐美禮賜，不得承襲。

Profitless ususer, why dost thou use

So great a sum of sums yet canst live?

放貸之人，何故守財(cái)，無利可圖，不得存活。

For having traffic with thyself alone,

Thou of thyself thy sweet self dost deceive.

自買自賣，獨(dú)身使然，詐紿一己，甘美不再。

Then how when Nature calls thee to be gone,

What acceptable audit canst thou leave?

造化喚君，終將歸去，怎留清賬，使人偃意？

Thy unused beauty must be tombed with thee,

Which, used, lives th'executor to be.

未墾之美，隨君入土;留種待春，子行遺囑。
