亨利·戴維·梭羅(Henry David Thoreau,1817-1862)
美國著名作家、自然主義者、改革家和哲學(xué)家。《瓦爾登湖》記載了他在瓦爾登湖的隱逸生活,這本書也成為了美國先驗(yàn)派哲學(xué)的代表作品。
Walden Pond(瓦爾登湖) is a lake in Concord(康科德), Massachusetts(馬薩諸塞州) in the United States.

The place Walden Pond was originally known to people around the world thanks to the book written by Thoureau. The life he described in this book attracted a number of people to experience. At least, its tourism developed along with the soaring circulation(一路飛漲的發(fā)行量) of this book.
If you were given the chance to lead a life that is for you to choose, what kind of life would you pick, a busy life in a fast-paced(快節(jié)奏的) metropolis(大都市) or a tranquil(平靜的) one with birds whispering you good morning every day? I assume that many of you, including me, will choose the latter. Living by the lake, waking up with the sunrise, doing whatever makes you comfortable and not even thinking about living pressure is something that we yearn for(渴望), except that we have to do some craftsmen work all by ourselves. In the book, Walden; or, Life in the Woods, depicts the halcyon(寧靜的) life that the writer led during his stay in that place. Think like a recluse(隱士) and live like one may be the tenet(信條) of his life, I posit.

If one can really strive for(奮斗) his or her dreams without any delay and considerations with every cell full of confidence, then he may lead a desired life with content(心滿意足). Sticking to one’s original intention is something that counts most. After all, it’s no easy task to leave everything behind and exploit a brand new life.
Compared with our current living conditions, with the world being polluted by human activities, the life that Thoureau led again gives us a clue to think about our actions.
