I has been in bad mood since I learned my class had a terrible English exam result yesterday. Although I got ver angry and wanted to shout at them, I did not do that, and instead I kept calm and thought of ways to solve the problem. First, I reflected my teaching methods, and I found that my class was not organized well. Sometimes too much time was spent on explaining the unimportant points, as a result, the important points are not explained enough. In addition, I need to explain the language points more clearly and need more preparation for the class. In addition, more efforts should be made to help them revise the important language points everyday, especially for the weaker students, I need to teach them how to memorize words and explain grammar to them.What's more, I should lead them to revise the important language points from time to time.
Some of them become not interested in English, because they dislike memorizing english words. So I need to think over how to arouse their interest in learning English. Most of them became interested in learning science subjects and spent much time on them, so they spent less time memorizing the art subjects, such as Chinese, English and so on. I should stress how important to memorize the art content.
As for this class today, I spent about 20 minutes talking about the importance of studying for themselves and taking action to study. In order to make them have a deep understanding, I need to give more personal examples.
In addition, I seldom asked them to do the closet reading and reading comprehension, so from now on they should do that everyday. Next day I need to spend no more than five minutes explaining the important and difficult choices.
