In peace, sons bury their fathers ；but in war, fathers bury their sons
We are living in comparative peaceful time , however ,when we open books of as vast as ocean , the only words shocks us is that recording war.? Why do people write down so many stories of war ？Losing human being? lives is the fundamental cause of war ！
Throughout history ,especially modern history ,and our elders underwent hardship and suffering. In World War Ⅱ,which is the most expensive war in history ！In a war, thousands of lives are lost and so many young people go fight and they come back will serious injuries and they might be missing limbs .What's more ,so many civilians will be left homeless when war destroys their country.
In a war, hundreds of thousands of people lost lives ——who could get interests from war ？Or what's the real purpose of war ？Maybe as Walt Whiteman said ,“The real war will never get in the books. ” We only know that there hasn't been any period in the history during which the world was really at peace. Since World War Ⅱ,we have seen fighting in many countries around the world ——when you turn on your TV ,your radio ,Wechat, even E-mail ——all you can see ,hear, and read is unrest.
Is war inevitable? Can war be prevented?
History tells us that there were wars, great or small, in every century, in every decade. Throughout the ages, from the Stone Age to the Atomic Age, men have been fighting,first with swords and shields,then with guns and cannons, and now, hydrogen bombs and missiles are used for military purposes.
In spite of all these, it is still my belief that war can be prevented, and peace can be won but it requires the effort of each and every one of us, and everyone in the world.
I am sure that we would not like to experience another world war. We don't want the third word war. If it ever happens, two-thirds of the world and much of the civilization which men have gained through time, patience and effort will be destroyed. Will the remaining one-third of the world be able to survive on its own?
If there is peace in the world, men can use their rockets to explore the mystery of space, their submarines to explore the depth of the sea, their missiles to deliver mail and their fine equipment to penetrate the jungles of Africa, instead of using them militarily. Governments can use their money to build more schools, so that more children can be educated to be civilized citizens.
As Franklin Roosevelt said ,“When peace has been broken anywhere ,the peace of all countries everywhere is in danger ！” So what should we do ？What can we do ？Maybe history could tell us what we should all know , although we cannot predict the future with absolute certainly, we can learn some meaningful things from history. In my humble opinion, it's vital for the understanding and friendship to all the peoples from all nations. Let no one suffer discrimination by reason of colour, race, religion or national origin. Let the rich support the poor and the strong help the weak. If we were friends , we know each other, we may don't fight. When the war is unavoidable, we may also try to stop the war if we have friends or relatives in the country...?
We know that neither peace nor such a dream world can come true in a day or a month. It may even take decades or centuries...but we always hope for the day...
