一年中我最愛的季節(jié)已經(jīng)過半，應(yīng)景的歌曲也很多。走在路上，看著滿地落葉，有一首歌很應(yīng)景，叫autumn leaves, 我聽完了它在音樂庫里收錄的所有版本，最終還是決定跟大家介紹我最喜歡的Bic Runga翻唱的這一版。
歌詞很簡單，只有兩段。但是意境很足，思鄉(xiāng)，相思，腦海里一閃而過的記憶片段，兒時院子里的秋千，年少時每天穿著校服走過的那條小巷……

先來看一下drift這個詞，在歌詞中翻譯成“飄落”。
drift verb

根據(jù)字典的解釋，drift就是move slowly，也就是慢慢移動的意思。云朵可以drift在天空，小船可以drift在水中，清風(fēng)可以drift進開著的窗子，煙霧可以drift滿屋子，人，也可以drift在街道上，漫無目的地走著，思考或者發(fā)呆，身后的影子拉長又縮短。
hold hands，握手，但是和見面打招呼的握手不一樣。打招呼的握手是shake hands，而hold hands有更多溫情在里面。
有人擅長安慰別人，可以說He/She is a hand-holder.
浪漫的ta，可以這么做：He/She held my hand, whispering to my ear.
Since you went away the days grow long
自從你走了，時間變得如此漫長
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
我又將聽到那古老的冬日之歌
But I miss you most of all, my darling
然而我深深思念著你，親愛的
When autumn leaves start to fall
在這秋葉紛紛落下的季節(jié)
since引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句，一般理解成“自從”。看幾個例子：
e.g.
I’ve never seen him again since he left for Paris.
自從他去了巴黎，我就再也沒見過他。
Days have grown shorter and nights have grown longer since autumn began.
自從秋天來了，白天越來越短，黑夜越來越長。
miss, v. 想念
I missed you.大概是我最喜歡的話了。如果再次見面，有人這么對我說，我會好開心。注意這里我用來一般過去時，就是說，“在我們不相見的日子里，我們在思念彼此，現(xiàn)在終于又見到了?！倍柙~中是一般現(xiàn)在時，也就是說，“想念你是我的日常?！?/p>
多說一句，英語中的時態(tài)能輔助表達出很微妙的感情，所以我一直在強調(diào)學(xué)習(xí)時態(tài)的重要性。
There is so much words can tell, but I’ll leave the rest to ‘redundancies’, especially tenses.
詞語也就只能表達到這里，剩下的需要用“多余的東西”來表達，尤其是時態(tài)。

秋天是谷物女神德墨忒爾思念女兒的時候，她女兒被迫嫁給了冥王哈德斯，她如此思念女兒以至于忘記了本職工作，導(dǎo)致世間萬物枯萎，冬天不遠了。
It is only human to mourn our loss in the past, whoever or whatever may it be, when gods and goddesses were doing the same.
既然天神們在追憶失去的人和物，那人類這么做也無可厚非。
So, in autumn, we get sentimental.
所以在秋天，我們變得多愁善感。
Maybe we owe someone a proper goodbye.
也許我們欠誰一個告別。
Maybe we gain a few pounds thanks to the food we have to keep warm.
也許為了保暖而吃的食物會讓我們胖個幾斤。

也許再見的時候自然會見，我們倒要看看，故事會怎樣發(fā)展。
