And the verse falls to the soul like dew to the pasture.

“Tonight I can write the saddest lines”是一首關于失戀的詩歌。
作者巴勃魯·聶魯達(Pablo Neruda, 1904-1973)，智利當代著名詩人、外交家，是20世紀最偉大的詩人之一。
他13歲開始發(fā)表詩作，1923年發(fā)表第一部詩集《黃昏》，1924年發(fā)表成名作《二十首情詩和一支絕望的歌》，于1971年獲得諾貝爾文學獎。
聶魯達的一生有兩個主題，一個是政治，另一個是愛情。這首詩就來源于他最為著名的詩集——《二十首情詩和一支絕望的歌》中。在這本詩集中，聶魯達不僅在贊美愛情，而且是在贊美性，因為它更接近一個男人與一個女人的關系的本質。
