This graph shows how the average global sea level increase between 1997 and 2005, with changes in millimeter. Overall, the graph shows the average change in global sea level over eight years. In 1997, the average rise in sea level was less than 5 millimeters, compared to the 2005 level, which was almost 30 millimeters, a sixfold increase. However, during the three years from 1997 to 1999, the growth level was relatively flat, while the 2000, was a year with a rapid straight rise. After that year, the horizontal line increased significantly in subsequent years.
