Emotional intelligence, or EQ, was brought to wider attention when people with an average were found to outperform those with higher IQs under many circumstances. One important reason is that people with a high EQ are generally liked so they get more attention, help and recognition. However, not only are those with a high EQ popular, but also people with charisma, i.e. those with a kind of extremely powerful ability to attract and interest other people.
