Yes,

there were lots of things you didn't do.

But

you put up with me, and loved me, and protected me.

were lots of things I wanted to make up to you

when

you returned from Vietnam.

But

you didn't.

這首詩的出處：一個普通的美國家庭，母女相依為命，女兒的父親在女兒4歲時應(yīng)征入伍去了越南，不幸陣亡。母親一直活到了80歲都沒有再嫁。母親去世后，女兒在整理母親的東西時，發(fā)現(xiàn)了一首母親親手寫的詩，題目就叫《可是你沒有》。
