It was written by Zhang Liang of the Han Dynasty. When taking refuge at Xia Pi after his?assassination efforts failed, he met Huang Shigong on a bridge and retrieved Huang’s shoes that are purposefully thrown under the bridge. Their encounter is not just by accident. Zhang Liang has revised the piece ten times. Despite of its shortness, it creates a sense of serenity so it can serve as a start for new learners.?
