1、But I still don't think people value hardbacks like they used to.(C19 Test4 Part3第23句)
2、Plus, nowadays, people don't keep them out on shelves as much as they used to.(C19 Test4 Part3第25句)
不過跟讀這句話,還學(xué)到了一個(gè)新的表示進(jìn)一步的連詞,plus,相當(dāng)于in addition,moreover,what's more這些。
3、When I visit someone if they have, say, a colourful book on a table,it's the first thing I'm drawn to.(C19 Test4 Part3第27句)
be drawn to sb or sth,被什么所吸引。后面加名詞,如果要表示一個(gè)動(dòng)作,則應(yīng)該是be drawn to doing sth(C19 Test4 Part3第27句)
4、I agree and book covers can be a work of art in themselves. Some are really eye-catching .(C19 Test4 Part3
跟讀這句話學(xué)到了兩個(gè)短語(yǔ),一個(gè)是a work of art,藝術(shù)品的意思,另一個(gè)是eye-catching,表示什么東西是引人注目的。
5、Ah,my grandfather says, you should put your hand right over the top of the book… or if you can't do that, pull the other books on the shelf aside so that you can hold the whole cover.(C19 Test4 Part3第31句)
