Today is Tuesday.

Yesterday a friend of mine asked if I want to join in her WeChat group for improving my spoken English by practicing. I said sorry to her. If she had asked me one month ago, I would be really happy to say yes. Actually I had joined in some spoken English groups before a month and I had been practicing my spoken English for almost three months. ?But I have almost dropped out of those groups. What is the reason that make me change my thought?

First of all, I am sure that I want to speak English as fluently as a native speaker. I think that's really cool. ?And I am also sure that the only way to achieve that is practicing to speak in English as much as I can. But one day when I asked myself if I really need to speak English very well? ?I hesitated. I have been working for a Chinese company for more than ten years. I have never spoken a sentence in English at work, because all of the users of our company are Chinese. And I don't think I will have more opportunities to speak English at work in my foreseeable future, neither in my life. Although sometimes I will go abroad for vacation, I think it's not too hard for me to face the situation. Compared with reading in English, I don't have much more motivation on speaking in English.

Reading, listening and writing are more important than speaking. At least it's true for me.
