九、春節(jié)
1. 問候
（1）Happy New Year. 新年快樂。
（2）Happy Chinese New Year.?中國新年快樂。（認(rèn)可度高）
（3）春節(jié)，Spring Festival.
spring，春天；?festival， 節(jié)日。
2. 吃團年飯
（1）圣誕節(jié)Christmas dinner,或者Christmas meal.
（2）春節(jié)New year’s dinner或者New year’s meal.
或者Chinese new year’s meal/ dinner.
（3）那么我們通常吃什么呢？
dumpling， 餃子；fish, 魚；
noodles?面條（通常都是復(fù)數(shù)）
春卷，?spring roll；年糕（rice cake）
湯圓（sweet dumpling）
（4）另外一個習(xí)俗就是可能會在餃子里面包一個硬幣：hide a coin in one of the dumplings.
hide，表示藏起來； coin，硬幣。
If you happen to get a dumpling with a coin inside, you will have good fortune.
（happen to表示碰巧）（fortune，運氣。）
PS：luck, 表示因為偶然原因走運，如果想表示“運勢”這種感覺， 比較正式，或者用詞比較“大”，通常還是說fortune.
3. 煙花和鞭炮
放煙花那個“放”，叫set off，或者light off.
light這個詞做名詞的是可以表示燈，光。比如說
turn off the light 關(guān)燈
煙花叫做 firework，但單數(shù)形式很少見，通常都是fireworks. 所以可以說
set off/ light off fireworks.?表示放煙花。
set off firecrackers放鞭炮。
噼里啪啦的擬聲詞用英文可以怎么說呢？
Boom! Crack! Pop!
Thunder cracked in the sky.
thunder是雷的意思，我們說“雷鳴”。
再比如說：
The tire went pop.
tire，也可以寫成tyre, 表示輪胎。
went pop就可以表示砰一聲。
4. 穿新衣
穿上新衣服怎么說呢？可以說：
Put on a brand-new outfit.
put on表示穿上，
brand-new表示嶄新的，
outfit可以表示一身衣服，一套衣服。
New year, new look.
Time to put on your brand-new outfit.
"I can button my coat myself.”外套
“I can put on a belt myself!”皮帶
“Get my feet into my new shoes!”
“All done!”
new hats, new tops, new pants（褲子）.
Can you help the boy get dressed?
Help him put on his hat/ coat/ his pants!
5. 紅包
red envelope。red packet, packet可以表示小包裝，小盒子。
envelope這個詞有兩個發(fā)音：
/?en.v?.l??p/? 或者 /?ɑ?n.v?.lo?p/
拜年，
pay a new year’s call/visit.
Pay a visit/ pay a call
give new year’s greetings.
After you give new year’s greetings to your family members, you’ll get red envelopes.
6. 舞龍舞獅
龍， dragon.
舞龍經(jīng)常翻譯成 dragon dance;
舞獅就是lion dance.
Let’s go watch the dragon dance!

很熱鬧繁忙的街道可以說busy street。
但今天再教大家一個很地道的詞：
bustling street, /?b?s.l??/表示熱鬧繁忙的。
如果是家人已經(jīng)聚在一起了，聚集這個動作已經(jīng)發(fā)生了，就說The whole family got together;或者將會聚在一起： The whole family will get together.
Our family got together today and we took a family photo. Look, where’s mommy? Where’s daddy? Where’s granny/grandma? Where’s grandpa?
7. 元宵節(jié)
Lantern Festival, 燈籠節(jié)。
Halloween, 萬圣節(jié)。
萬圣節(jié)用到的lantern是pumpkin lantern, 南瓜燈。
