這是我的第55篇日記。

The two girls were silently taking notes, uneasy in mind and yet feeling that they were on the verge of discovering a wonderful secret.

「take note (of sth)」 ：to pay attention to something 注意、留意到某事；想表達(dá)“提醒自己要做某事”時，就可以說「make a mental note to do」，比如：He made a mental note to arrange a time to meet her. 他提醒自己要安排一個時間與她見面。

兩個小女孩兒默默地觀察著，忐忑不安地覺得她們正在接近一個偉大的秘密。小孩子的好奇心啊...

1. 「row」:? 常見的意思是“一排，一行”，此處是“爭吵，吵架”的意思。

原句：She hasn’t been in any row lately, for Mother hasn’t been nagging at her as she always used to, and I’m sure we’ve not been troublesome

take a dim view of 不贊成；不樂觀

bother to do sth.? 費(fèi)心做某事

be short of breath 呼吸急促
