what’s good

1. Our team supported each other and backed each other up.

2. We kept a weekly call to discuss the process and details.

3. Tina and I met face to face to discuss the workshop. It turned out that we spent much time getting to know each other. The good connection made the work really efficient and smooth. So I think the time with any of your future partners is well spent. The more you know him or her as a person ( remember, not a facilitator, but a person), the more likely the workshop goes well.

4. Dress code and nice venue. Actually no other workshops have considered it as an important factor. However, when it comes to good marketing, a nice picture is always a plus. So we take future marketing materials into consideration, and set a certain dress code ( not compulsory of course) to make the picture look good. It is also a very good opportunity to add some fun and creative factor to the event.

5. During facilitation, we kept flexible. It’s also helpful to read other teams’ reflection beforehand to avoid similar unwelcomed occasions.

6. Be authentic.

7. We designed a feedback sheet for participants to fill out before they left, which gave us some extra info, quite helpful with our design and facilitation.

What can be better

1. Good personal story telling. Our personal stories are very powerful. It’s better to have many stories at hand and throw them out when the space needs them. Also, we need to practise telling our personal stories, so that there will be less unrelated details, and stories will be much more enrolling and believable. Also, there is a very delicate line between sharing our personal stories sincerely and bragging. I guess there is no shortcut to this. We just need to walk down the path of our meaningful work to make our story telling more authentic and authoritative. Remember who we are and why we are doing this.

2. Get more familiar with the teaching part ( 4 glasses, 4 steps, GD, LP, etc.)

3. Ice breaker is important.
