A man walked in the desert for two days. He encountered sand storm en route（在途中）. After a gust（陣） of sand storm, he couldn't identify the right direction. While unable to hold fast, he suddenly found an abandoned cabin（小屋）.
有一個(gè)人在沙漠里已經(jīng)走了兩天了。他在途中遭遇了沙塵暴。一陣沙塵過后，他根本無法辨別方向。就在快要堅(jiān)持不住的時(shí)候，他突然發(fā)現(xiàn)了一間廢棄的小木屋。
cabin
He dragged his exhausted body into the room. This was a small airless（不通風(fēng)的） cabin, stacked（堆放） with some decaying（腐爛的） wood. He walked to the corner almost in despair, but accidentally discovered a water pump.
他拖著疲憊的身體走了進(jìn)去。狹小的房間悶不透氣，屋里堆著些發(fā)霉的木頭。他幾近絕望地走向角落，卻意外地發(fā)現(xiàn)了一個(gè)水泵。
water pump
Excitedly, he went forward to draw water, but he couldn't pump water no matter how hard he tried. He sat on the ground dejected（沮喪的） when he saw a small bottle with a cork（軟木塞） plugging the mouth;
他興奮極了，徑直走過去取水，可是無論怎么使勁就是泵不出水來。他失望地坐在地上，這時(shí)他看到一個(gè)瓶口塞著軟木塞的小瓶子。
on the bottle was posted a yellowed note, which read: You must pour the water into the pump before you can draw water! Don't forget, before you leave, refill it with water! He unplugged the stopper and found the bottle was really filled with water.
瓶身貼著一張泛黃的紙條，上面寫著：要想出水先得往泵里蓄水！別忘了，離開之前把水蓄滿！他拔下瓶塞，發(fā)現(xiàn)瓶里還真有滿滿一瓶的水。
At this moment he thought: if I'm a little selfish, as long as I drink the water in the bottle, I can go out of this room alive! If I do as the note told to pour the only water into the pump, in case the water can't come back, I will be thirsty to death. Will I take the risk or not?
此時(shí)他想：如果我自私一點(diǎn)，喝了這瓶里的水，就能活著走出這個(gè)房間！如果按照紙條上寫的，把這僅有的水倒進(jìn)泵里，萬一出不了水，我肯定就渴死了。我到底要不要冒這個(gè)險(xiǎn)呢？
Finally, he decided to pour the only water into the worn-out（破舊的） pump and began to draw water with his trembling hands. Sure enough, the water really gushed out richly!
最后，他決定把僅有的水倒進(jìn)干涸的水泵，顫抖著雙手開始泵水。水泵里居然有大量的水噴涌而出！
After he drank enough water, he filled the bottle with water, enveloped it with the cork and added his words after the note: Believe me, it's really useful. Before you get it, you should first learn to pay.
他喝了個(gè)夠，把瓶子里灌滿了水，用瓶塞封住，在紙條上填上了自己想說的話：相信我！上面說的真的有用！得到之前先要學(xué)會付出。
