  1. A government shutdown began at mid-night Friday when the senate failed to pass a budget deal. Republicans have a plan to end the shutdown by early Monday. But Democrats aren't budgeting on including certain healthcare and immigration funds in all legislations. National monuments and parks were closed as a result of the shutdown including the statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. People ventured into Yellow Stone, Rocky Montain and Yosemite National Parks, but few park services are working and the visitor's center and public toilets were closed. Despite of this, vice president Mike Pence did not stop his visit to the Middle East. He visited Jordan and supported president Donald Trump's Jerusalem decision.
  2. And people participated in women's marches nationally with the messages of taking action. Last year the marchers voiced their discontent. This year, they are pleading to vote, run for office and elect new politicians in the 2018 mid-term elections.
