The two men quarrelled bitterly and it was clear that the argument could only be settled by a fight. A match was held at Stilton, where both men fought for an hour. It was not until his third match in 1790 that he finally beat Humphries and became Champion of England. Meanwhile, he founded a highly successful Academy and even Lord Byron became one of his pupils.? He earned enormous sums of money and was paid as much as $100 for a single appearance. Despite this, he was so extravagant that he was always in debt. After he was defeated by a boxer called Gentleman Jackson, he was quickly forgotten. He was sent to prison for failing to pay his debts and died in poverty in 1836.

練習(xí)感悟：

好久沒有寫練習(xí)感悟了，之前覺得可有可無，真的重新開始還是覺得有必要，模仿過程中的不足如果沒有及時(shí)記錄，一下子就忘記了。

今天這篇文章有一些連讀沒有到位，比如

A match was held at Stilton中held at模仿時(shí)會忘記連讀；還有一句我覺得最難模仿的是 Mendoza met Humphries in the ring on a later occasion and he lost for a second time. 需要一邊牢記連讀位置，還需要模仿口吻跟笑聲，往往顧此失彼。

重新朗讀了幾遍，又發(fā)現(xiàn)了一些問題，比如poverty的o的音，應(yīng)該讀成a，extravagant中tr的音讀久了舌頭會轉(zhuǎn)不動(dòng)，還有就是刪除了文稿中的重復(fù)句。模仿的狀態(tài)是越放松越自然，有時(shí)候太僵硬了，帶著刻意模仿的痕跡，聽著就很刺耳。
