As a developed but still not that expensive area, Taiwan is charming. There you can live either a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle in a nice apartment with modern conveniences, or a cheap, down-to-earth countryside lifestyle without any low living quality but spending only a little money. I lived in Taipei for some time when I was young. It’s an impressive experience. It worths the name of one of the best places to live in Asia, as many foreigners said.
Food in Taiwan are diverse, delicious and cheap. You can have a traditional Taiwanese breakfast with fried bread sticks & a cup of soy milk, a proper Japanese meal with side dishes & a bowl of ramen for lunch, and Thai chicken coconut curry rice for dinner. Being a vegetarian in Taiwan is easy. Apart from Buddhist restaurants, you have options of Mexico, Italian and Indian food decently priced.
In another term of night time events, Taiwan is amazing too. There are so many kinds of markets come out when the night falls. It’s a smorgasbord of delicacies. Braised food is one of my favorites.? ?
It’s friendly and safe. The locals are generally helpful and warm hearted. People are just nice there. Pickpocketing is rare. You rarely have to bargain for discounts either. Very little in terms of scams and cheating even involving foreigners was heard.?
Taiwan has plenty of beautiful mountains, waterfalls and rivers. All road signs are very easy to navigate. Tourist places are never too crowded. Taroko & Alishan are famous for us. Besides, Kenting is well known for its clean and sunny beaches. The countryside is stunning for its tea fields, mountains, views and the coast, especially the east coast. There’s a reason the Portugueses called it “The Beautiful Island”.
In the end, go for Taiwan if you get a chance.
作為一個(gè)發(fā)達(dá)但還不算太貴的地區(qū)，臺(tái)灣是迷人的。在那里，你可以過(guò)上舒適奢華的生活，在舒適的公寓里享受現(xiàn)代生活的便利，也可以只花費(fèi)很少的錢，享受便宜的、接地氣的鄉(xiāng)村生活。我在臺(tái)北生活過(guò)一段時(shí)間，這體驗(yàn)很值得回味。像很多老外說(shuō)的，臺(tái)灣是亞洲最適宜居住的地方之一。
臺(tái)灣吃的很多，美味又便宜。你可以選擇傳統(tǒng)的臺(tái)灣早餐，炸面包棒配上一杯豆?jié){，中午可以來(lái)一份正宗日本料理加配菜，再來(lái)一小碗拉面，晚餐則吃泰國(guó)咖喱椰雞。臺(tái)灣有很多素食主義者，在臺(tái)灣吃素很容易。除了佛教餐廳外，你也可以選擇墨西哥、意大利或者印度美食。
臺(tái)灣的夜間活動(dòng)也令人驚嘆，最出名的當(dāng)屬夜市。當(dāng)夜幕降臨時(shí)，形形色色的夜市開(kāi)始冒出來(lái)。這是一個(gè)美味佳肴的大雜燴。鹵味是我的最愛(ài)之一。
臺(tái)灣治安很好，當(dāng)?shù)厝撕軜?lè)于助人，熱情好客。扒竊很少見(jiàn)，買東西也很少需要討價(jià)還價(jià)。欺詐和欺騙很少聽(tīng)說(shuō)，甚至賣東西給老外都很少聽(tīng)說(shuō)缺斤短兩。
臺(tái)灣的山、瀑布、河流都很漂亮，所有的路標(biāo)都很清晰，景點(diǎn)不會(huì)太擁擠。太魯閣和阿里山對(duì)于我們來(lái)說(shuō)早有耳聞，墾丁以它的干凈明亮的海灘出名。令人驚嘆的還有稍偏一點(diǎn)的茶園、各款的山、各類風(fēng)景和它的海岸線，尤其是臺(tái)灣東海岸，很漂亮。葡萄牙人稱臺(tái)灣為“美麗的島嶼”是有原因的。
