第一句

為做錯(cuò)的事情“買單”，指的是要“承擔(dān)責(zé)任”或“付出代價(jià)”：take the blame for/to pay for...；
“尋求寬宥”就好理解了：尋求寬恕?ask/seek forgiveness；

第二句
身為公眾人物，對(duì)歷史常識(shí)如此匱乏，對(duì)民族苦難渾然不覺，太不應(yīng)該。
先來(lái)看結(jié)構(gòu)，有2種處理方式。
第一種是順著原文來(lái)：
“身為...”明顯可以處理為狀語(yǔ)：as a public figure；
這句話沒主語(yǔ)，但我們都知道是哪位，把他補(bǔ)上：Zhang Zhehan；
“對(duì)...匱乏”、“對(duì)...渾然不覺”并列；
“太不應(yīng)該”可以解讀為“讓人難以接受”，情感飽滿一點(diǎn)甚至可以是“是個(gè)恥辱、讓人震驚”：it is unacceptable/shocking/a shame....；
譯文
As a public figure, it is unacceptable/shocking/a shame that Zhang Zhehan displayed a complete unawareness of national sufferings and shocking ignorance of history.
再來(lái)看第二種結(jié)構(gòu)：
我們可以把“身為公眾人物”融到主干里，即：it is.... for a public figure to...
譯文：
It is unacceptable for a public figure to be so ignorant of the past and so insensitive to the painful sufferings his fellow countrymen have had.
It is a shame for a public figure to forget the history and ignore the sufferings of the country.
第三句
事關(guān)民族大義，不容任何試探，更不容有任何挑戰(zhàn)。
“不容...”這個(gè)句式簡(jiǎn)直太熟悉了，外交部發(fā)言人的常用話術(shù)，比如：
西藏事務(wù)純屬中國(guó)內(nèi)政，不容任何外部勢(shì)力干涉。
Tibetan affairs are purely China's internal affairs that allow no foreign interference.
這是中國(guó)和東盟國(guó)家共同努力的結(jié)果，不容唱衰和抹殺
It is attributable to the joint efforts made by China and ASEAN countries that allows no downplay and denial.?
注意這句話中的動(dòng)詞：試探、挑戰(zhàn)，搭配的賓語(yǔ)就可以是“民族大義的紅線”
“試探”動(dòng)詞可以用test, 名詞可以用provocation:
[ UC] the act of doing or saying sth deliberately in order to make sb angry or upset; something that is done or said to cause this 挑釁；刺激；激怒
有點(diǎn)“試探底線”的意思吧。
譯文走起：
The red lines of the Chinese nation will not be tested or challenged.
或者借用外交部的句式：

還有一種思路，把主語(yǔ)確定為“人”：no one；
沒有人可以...: no one is in any position to...
譯文：

第四句
若明知故犯，就得付出沉重代價(jià)。

這句話雖短，但我們有3種處理方式
第一種還是順著來(lái)，條件狀語(yǔ)從句+主干，增補(bǔ)邏輯主語(yǔ)One;
“明知故犯”就是指的上一句嘛，來(lái)一個(gè)指代，或者換個(gè)表達(dá)“挑戰(zhàn)民族尊嚴(yán)”：
One shall pay a heavy price if he knowingly makes such attempts/does so/challenges national dignity.
第二種把主語(yǔ)確定為“明知故犯的人”：
Whoever knowingly make such attempts will end up paying a heavy price.
第三種強(qiáng)調(diào)下“代價(jià)的沉重”，也就是說(shuō)把主語(yǔ)定位price, “明知故犯的price將會(huì)很嚴(yán)重：
The price for doing so knowingly will be heavy for all.
