In some countries, an increasing number of parents choose to educate their children at home by themselves instead of sending them to school. Are the advantages of home education outweighing the disadvantages？

Education is a vital element in children’s development. People consent to the importance of educating children. Contrary to the conventional practice of sending children to school, nowadays parents increasingly choose to educate their children by themselves at home. Home education has its own advantages.
To begin with, one of multiple advantages of homeschooling is that parents can protect their children from school violence, which is a common phenomenon in school and school bullying may leave adverse influence on children’s personalities. Homeschooling enables parents to know completely about the problems their children have. In contrast, teachers at school are not liable to spend too much time on each child because they have the whole class to take care of. Homeschoolers may be given full concentration; as a result, homeschoolers may score at or above the national average on standardized tests. Nevertheless, education is more than getting high scores on tests.
While home education is beneficial in some ways, home can never replace school as the major place for educating children. School education exposes children to a wide range of updated educational resources. Moreover, teaching is facilitated by well-trained teachers with effective teaching strategies in school. Although school bullying does exist, children grow up in learning to deal with conflicts with others in a positive and constructive manner. School education invests children with abilities of cooperation and competition, which is essential for them to be well-rounded human beings. School education boosts children’s prospects of integrating into the society.
In conclusion, home education plays bit roles in children’s comprehensive education. School education is the dominant pillar for children’s development, both physically and psychologically. The disadvantages of home education outweigh the advantages; school education is a better choice for educating children. (288words)
