雅思口語考試還是很公平和專業(yè)的，因為是和考官對話。而某些口語考試，讓兩個 candidates 對話，命運完全掌握在對方嘴里。

The List of the Topics

Part 1 -- The examiner asks the candidate about him/herself, his/her hometown, work or studies and other topics.

Examples:

• Musics

  • What types of music do you like to listen to? And why?
  • At what time of dat do you like to listen to music?
  • Did you learn to play a musical instrument when you were a kid?

• Travel

  • Do you enjoy traveling?
  • Have you done much traveling?
  • Do you think it's better to travel alone or with other people?
  • Where would you like to travel in the future?

Part 2 -- One to two minutes talking

You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.

For instance:

• Describe a child you know
• Describe a shop near where you live that you sometimes use
• Describe your holidays
• Describe a teacher from your past that you remember
• Describe someone in your family who you really admire

I've got a small family with only five members and all of us are very close to each other and we love each other very much. Among them, I love my mother more than anyone else in the whole world. I adore my mother for her caring, loving, adorable behaviours and wit. She is the person I can share everything with and that's the reason I worship her so much.

Possibly she was the first human I saw when I opened my eyes in this world. A relationship with a mother is divine and all of my childhood memories are either related to my mom or my school. I can still remember a day I was late to come back home after school and that's because there was a ceremony at the school I did not know about. All of a certain I found that my mother was entering through the school gate to find me. I was so frightened that my mother would rebuke me for being late unnoticed and she must be mad at me. But to my best surprise, when my mother saw me she had a warm smile on her face that I'll never forget till my last breath on this earth. Then she hugged me and gave me a kiss. I felt then that I love my mother more than me. She attended the program at the school and afterwards we came back home together.

I spent my 19 years or so with my father and mother but I stay at a metropolitan city now for my education. Whenever I get a vacation, I meet my mother at my village home. On an average, I spend 2/3 months with my mother each year but I talk to her over the phone almost twice a day.

The reasons why I admire her are endless. She is caring, tender, she has got a big heart and she possesses a great love for everyone. She had been an ideal mother to raise 3 kids and making sure our education and moral values. She had made a lot of sacrifices all of her life and had never complained about anything to my best knowledge. She is the person who reminds me the power of love and caring.

Part 3 -- Discussion topics

Q.1. Why is it important to know more languages?

Ans. It is important to know more languages because of a number of reasons. Firstly, in this globalised world knowing more languages can help person in his business and even in education. Secondly, knowing more languages can go long way in understanding the culture to which that language belongs as language is the core part of that culture.

Q.2. Some languages are being spoken by less number of people and there is a fear that they may die down.Do you think these languages should be preserved?

Ans. Yes definitely, these languages should be preserved. I believe, language is the core part of every culture and if a language dies, the culture also does not flourish.

Q.3. Why is it easy to learn a language easily where it is actually spoken?

Ans. It is easy to learn a language where it is actually spoken because the environment is such. By interaction with the people there, the learning of that particular language becomes not so tough.

Q.4. Is it possible to master a language at a place other than where it is spoken? Why/ Why not?

Ans. Yes, of course. It is possible to master a language any where in the world. This can be done by reading the books of that language, watching movies and interacting with people who know that language. Now it has become possible to learn languages online also.

Q.5. Do you think that the world would be a more peaceful place if there was just one language spoken all over the world as there would be no communication gap?

Ans. I don’t think so as the world history is full of examples where the nations having the common language had been at war. In my opinion there would be too much monotony.

除了 part 3，其他兩 part 是比較好找到規(guī)律和應對方案的 -- 以不變應萬變，這兩部分都是在問 「something about you -- the Main Character」

遙想當年考雅思，我大約只準備了關于興趣愛好、家鄉(xiāng)、最喜歡的音樂類型，其實興趣愛好也可以是「音樂」，「最崇拜的人」也可以聊喜歡 ta 的 「音樂」，家鄉(xiāng)可以轉到自己的童年和最喜歡的老師，最重要是變通。

不管別人懂不懂，我好像是懂了，又懂了。
