About the story:
Micky was a little puppy who was always late. In the morning, his brothers and sisters woke up and ran to breakfast, wresting and tussling. But Mickey dawdled and dreamed. He imagined a big bone that he could chew on forever. “Hurry up, Mickey,” called his mother.
But by the time Mickey made it to breakfast, his brothers and sisters had eaten almost everything. “Hurry up, Mickey,”said his biggest sister. “We’re going to the park to play hide-and-seek.” “ He’ll be there soon,” said Mickey’s mother. She led Mickey off to find some more food. “Puppies who are last still need their breakfast.”
Mickey always had fun on his own. He played with a ball on his way to the park. And he loves cloud-watching. Obviously he didn’t catch up with his brothers and sisters.
Mickey tried to hurry for the rest of the day. But that’s not what Mickey wants to be. He did not want to hurry any more. He lay next to his mother on the rag. Mickey’s mother told him a story, “once there was a little puppy who liked to take his time. other puppies moved faster and Mickey was always last. Sometimes Mickey worried about being slow. But he always got where he was going sooner or later. On the way, he had lots of adventures that the others never had time for.”
I think Mickey is like the kid who is always slow, dawdling and dreamy. All we can do as a parent, is to be waiting patiently. And tell him to be himself! I like the mother dog very much!
