最近，很多的學生想問project proposal/writing sample該怎么寫，以前從來沒寫過這種東西，提筆一片茫然。所謂知己知彼，百戰(zhàn)不殆，首先我們要了解PP/WS到底是什么。毫無疑問，PP/WS是申請材料的重要組成部分，錄取委員會會據(jù)此審核你是否有獨立解決問題的能力，將想法與實踐相結(jié)合的能力。如果讓你去做一個研究，你能不能有條理的寫出研究的步驟，可能遇到的問題，以及如何解決。另外還有一個重要的點就是你在PP/WS里如何審視自己的經(jīng)歷和知識，尋找自己在哪些方面還有問題，哪些領(lǐng)域你還不明白，你準備如何處理；通過這些，錄取委員會可以了解學院的課程能否支持你未來的職業(yè)發(fā)展。
其實它們并不難，現(xiàn)在我就以倫敦藝術(shù)大學中央圣馬丁的陶瓷，家具和珠寶設(shè)計（MA Design; Ceramics, Furniture, Jewellery）的要求為例，教大家怎樣寫出一篇規(guī)范的proposal。一般字數(shù)在800以內(nèi)，資料來源，參考書目和附錄部分不包含在字數(shù)內(nèi)。
Your Background
Using bullet points,state professional qualifications, skills, experiences, abilities
and prior practice that are relevant to your proposal.
Outline Proposal
Describe your precise area of interest and research/study you wish to undertake
demonstrating your contextual knowledge.
Describe the core of your project in three to four sentences.
Outline the context in which your project operates answering questions such as: Why is your project relevant? Who might be its audience(s)?
Development
Refer to specific areas, critical ideas and precedents, which underpin and frame your proposal.
This section invites you to extend the description of your projectfocusing on specific areas. Particularly important is yourevaluation of precedents and how you position your project inrelationship to these.
Research
Outline the sequence of practical, of theoretical and of visual research that you intend to follow. This section requires you to be specific about how you plan to conduct your project and where particular challenges might lie.
Evaluation
Evaluate your work to date. Which conclusions are you are able to draw?
Where do you think the strengths of your work lie and where are areas you might
improve?
Resources
Document resources that you have drawn on as part of your research towards your proposalincluding professional contacts,libraries, museums, galleries, special archives orcollections.
Document any professional contacts that might support the delivery of your project.These might be drawn from the listabove and / or extend to your access to research or productionfacilities, potential collaborators etc.
Bibliography
Please give clear references of any relevant documentary materialincluding books, images, videos, objects, artworks, online sources etc.
Appendix (optional)
This section is optional. You can insert any additional material that you consider
relevant but not a core part of your project proposal.
This could be other projects, notebooks, drawings, companyanalyses, or additional research material.

大綱：

資料來源：
記錄你在proposal中使用的資料來源包括在職業(yè)領(lǐng)域有聯(lián)系的人，圖書館，博物館，展覽，特別檔案，收藏等等。記錄任何會支持你項目的專業(yè)領(lǐng)域推薦人，這些可能是上面已列出的人，或者拓展到研究人員，生產(chǎn)商，潛在合作伙伴等等。
參考文獻：
請給出明確的引用相關(guān)文獻資料,包括書籍、圖片、視頻、藝術(shù)品、在線資源等。
附錄（optional）：你可以加入任何與PP相關(guān)但是不是核心的其他材料。這可能是其他項目、筆記本、圖紙、公司分析,或額外的研究材料。
最后提醒一點，不要閉門造車，多多參考前人的文獻調(diào)研，盡量選擇你所感興趣的方向，寫的有邏輯，去體現(xiàn)你的學術(shù)研究能力。
