To tip, or give extra money, is part of American culture. It helps to know when and how to tip in the US.
When you get to the US, start to tip at the airport.
When someone helps you with your bags, tip him or her $1 to $2 for each bag.
Next, your taxi driver would like to get a 10% to 20% tip.
When you check in at your hotel, tip the person who carries your bags $2 to $3 per bag.
Tip for the cleaning service at the hotel, too. Leave $2 to $5 per day.
In a sit-down restaurant (提供座位的餐廳), leave a 20% tip. You can leave more when you're really happy with your waiter.
Sometimes, you're not happy with the waiter.
For example, you'd like to have some fruit, but the waiter brings you the wrong thing, like some fries. When this happens, you still need to leave a 10% tip.
But you can talk to the manager. And you might get an ice cream on the house (由商家免費(fèi)提供的).
