常見詞根“scend”表示“爬”
前綴a常見意思有：
①否定【如amoral】；
②強調(diào)（通常是a+重復(fù)的詞首輔音）【如accelerate】；
③表示表語形容詞【如alive】
ascend詞義：
本義為“上升”
由詞義倒推詞根，這里我理解為強調(diào)，又有一說“a”表示“向上”，這個解釋我覺得沒有太多根據(jù)，不過“a”也有表方位的意思如“along”,“aside”，“away”等。
所以它的幾個意思分別為：
①上升；攀登

對和平的渴望超越了政治分歧。
