單詞

• throne
  （國王或女王的）御座，王位，王權，美劇《權利的游戲》英文名為 ’Game of the Thrones‘，這里的throne就有王權的意思。

• crown
  王冠，皇冠，頭部，頂部

拓展一下，在美國超市里，經常有賣西蘭花，一般都是花冠的部分，所以叫broccoli crowns，我經常把它和花菜的英文名弄混，花菜叫作cauliflower

• bow
  鞠躬，也有弓箭的意思

• trumpet
  喇叭，小號，它長這樣：

• custard
  蛋奶沙司（與水果、布丁一同食用），英文解釋為：Custard is a sweet yellow sauce made from milk and eggs or from milk and powder. It is eaten with fruit and puddings. 它大概長這樣：

• doughnut
  炸面圈，甜甜圈，在美式英語里也寫作donut。
  美國有一家很有名的連鎖店叫Dunkin' Donuts，里面有賣各式各樣的甜甜圈，看起來很好看，味道還不錯，就是實在太甜了，而且熱量略高。。。

• bang
  突然的巨響：A bang is a sudden loud noise such as the noise of an explosion.
  ? ?I heard four or five loud bangs……
  ? ?我聽到四五聲巨響。

• thunderstorm
  暴，雷雨：A thunderstorm is a storm in which there are thunder and lightning and a lot of heavy rain.
  打雷聲是thunder，閃電是lightning

• suck
  吸，吮，抽取，拓展一下，它作動詞還可以表示糟糕透頂了：If someone says that something sucks, they are indicating that they think it is very bad.
  ? ?The system sucks.
  ? ?這個系統(tǒng)太差勁了。

• bucket
  有提手的桶，吊桶

• drip
  水滴，滴液。在咖啡的烹制工具中，有一種是滴漏式咖啡壺，這種咖啡叫drip brewing coffee。

• splash
  潑，灑，（在水中）嬉戲。
  ? ?People were having fun in the pool, swimming, or just splashing around.
  ? ?人們在游泳池里或游泳，或拍打戲水，開心地玩著。

• splosh
  與splash意思相近，表示在水中啪嗒啪嗒地移動，濺潑著前行。
  ? ?Children were splashing about in the pool.
  ? ?孩子們在游泳池里嘩嘩地游來游去。

• royal highness
  殿下，對國王、王后、女王等之外王室成員的尊稱，也可以說 “Your highness”

• tuck in
  英式英語中用的比較多，表示痛快地吃某樣食物
  ? ?Come on, tuck in, everyone!
  ? ?來呀，大家盡情吃呀！

• on the count of three
  復習一下上一篇筆記中的內容，數到三

• be about to do sth
  即將做……，馬上要發(fā)生……：If you are about to do something, you are going to do it very soon. If something is about to happen, it will happen very soon.

  用于非常正式的口語表達，你是否需要……

• what do you say
  你覺得怎么樣？你覺得行嗎？（用于詢問某人是否同意所提出的建議）
