From Yellow Crane Tower departs my bosom friend,
Going down to Yangzhou where fog and flowers blend.
His lone sail disappears in the vast and distant blue.
To the horizon the rolling Yangtzi is all that’s in view.

From Yellow Crane Tower my friend took his leave of the west.
He's bound for Yangzhou while the flowers bloomed at their best.
His sail dwindled away against the sky vast and blue.
In the view, only the Yangtzi River towards the end it flew.

Seeing My Friend Off From the Yellow Crane Tower to Guangling

Yangtze River seems to flow to the heavens with its power.
