1. Back then? I was waiting for the result of an audition, my livelihood was pretty much counting on it.

那陣子我在等待一份試鏡的結果，基本上我當時的生機全寄托于它。

時間、地點都有了（人物一開始就明了了），可以開始闡述事件了（等面試結果）。

2. So... my phone rang and I was told that I didn't pass. Actually, I knew I wouldn't make it. But still, I felt terrible.

嗯，這時手機響了，我沒通過。其實我早就知道。但是內心還是很難受。

繼續(xù)說明事件。這里用到了兩個之前學過的表達：

1）. "So..."表達一句話開始時也可以稍微拖長一點。

2）. “ I knew it." 表示”早已知道“。

“我沒通過面試”的翻譯加了一個"I was told" 是因為說話人是通過電話得知的，所以說話人是“被告知”，加上“I was told",這句話的邏輯才嚴謹。

3. But the rain suddenly stopped and the sun was out again. The restaurant was bathed in sunshine shortly after. Magical, right?

但雨卻突然停了，太陽出來了，餐館里馬上灑滿了雨后的陽光。很神奇，是不是？

4. Walking under the sun/ in the sunshine, I was thinking, yes, I failed this time, so what? There is always hope in life. And this is my most cherished memory.

走在陽光下，我想，是，這次我失敗了，那又如何？生活總是有希望的。這便是我最寶貴的回憶。
