Pumas are large, cat-like animals which are found in America. When a wild puma had
been reported to be spotted forty-five miles south of London, experts from zoo felt it
unimportant. However, they began to take it seriously as quite a lot of people claimed to have seen the puma. The hunt for the puma began in a small village where a woman
picking blackberries noticed 'a large cat' only five yards away from her. It immediately
ran away when she saw it. Experts warned people that a puma will attack a human
being if it is assailed. But it was diffcult to catch the puma for it was found at one place
in the morning and at another place twenty miles away in the evening. A great many
dead deers and small animals like rabbits, and paw prints as well as puma fur stuck to
bushes had been found in a number of places. 'Cat-like noises' had been heard at night and a puma had been oberseved up a tree by a businessman on a fishing trip. The
experts were now completely sure that the animal was a puma, but where had it come
from? They concluded that this one must have been owned by a private collector as no
puma had been reported missing from any zoon. Although the hunt continued for a few weeks, so far no puma had been caught. People think it pretty scared for a dangerous wild animal is still not kept in an enclosure.
