周六一大早我開車到了紐瓦克機(jī)場，正準(zhǔn)備過安檢，聽到有人叫我，回頭一看是Todd，老朋友，和我一樣，去拉斯維加斯開展會(huì)。我們擁抱寒暄一番，他個(gè)子高，一下子又看到另外三個(gè)同事老友。嘿，真是天涯何處不相逢。在這行業(yè)做久了，一個(gè)好處就是時(shí)不時(shí)還能在機(jī)場啊、拉斯維加斯啊，各種地方碰到新朋好友。
工作已經(jīng)成了我們生活中不可分割的一個(gè)部分。既然如此，誰又不是抱著大干一場、全力以赴的初衷以及對公平合理的認(rèn)可和回報(bào)這樣的期待投入工作呢？如果Ta想都不想，那一定多是因?yàn)楣净蚶习宓脑??；蛘哌€是有其它更深層的原因？
我們都全力以赴，但是有的人卻感到我們終生最大的獎(jiǎng)牌可能只是銅牌*。如果這樣，我們還會(huì)像那些被告知沖向金牌的人一樣奮斗不息嗎？
（注*：《人類簡史》一書中提到，古今中外自農(nóng)業(yè)革命后的所有社會(huì)中，雖然也有相對成功的女性，但男性的優(yōu)勢是絕對的，女性得到的最大的獎(jiǎng)牌不過是銅牌。）
我有很多在大公司工作的女性朋友在人生的不同階段決定離開大公司。當(dāng)年和我一起加入羅氏公司的有另外兩位女性。其中一位英國女性很年輕就因各種壓力承受不了而退出；另外一位亞洲女性現(xiàn)在是一位快樂的妻子和母親，悠閑自在，每周去跳三次芭蕾舞修身養(yǎng)性。我的朋友徐林決定自己創(chuàng)業(yè)。還有一些女性同事決定離職去探索自己的靈魂，追尋自己的夢想。
我自己在職業(yè)的長河中也有過多次離職的沖動(dòng)。值得慶幸的是，在我的一系列“榮耀”中，其中有一項(xiàng)很特別，就是我的“單親媽媽”之身份。我的兩個(gè)孩子給了我最大的動(dòng)力，經(jīng)常讓我在對人生之路感到迷茫，把握不住方向時(shí)給我鼓勵(lì)和平衡。我對他們何以回報(bào)呢？哈哈，就是我會(huì)以做他們的榜樣為使命，并堅(jiān)持為那塊精神上的銅牌奮斗，同時(shí)也持續(xù)為他們昂貴的學(xué)費(fèi)買單。

Women and Corporate (5) Going for Bronze?
On my way to #LasVegas I met a few old colleagues at Newark Airport. We love the fact that we still like the #food business and still meet from time to time in places such as airports and Vegas.
Work has become an inseparable part of our life. And so, who doesn't want to give the best shot, enjoy it and get compensated fairly and equitably? If someone doesn't want it, it must be caused by his/her leader or the company. Or any other reason?
We all work hard, but some may feel that the best we could get is a bronze medal. Shall we then still be as committed as those that are promised the gold?
Many of my female friends have decided to leave the #corporate world, in different stages of life. I started my #career with 2 other #women interns. One of them had a burn out at a young age; The other is now a happy mom and wife, and in her spare time she dances ballet 3 times a week. My friend Grace Lin Xu started her own company. Some of my female colleagues decided to take time off to do soul searching.
I too thought about quitting a few times. Luckily, among other privileges, I am also a #SingleMom. My kids help me find the balance,? in return I fund their college bills.
But...why do #women quit?
