【編者按】：這首詩正如王佐良先生一樣，是在勸說詩人所愛的女孩要抓住時機接受愛情，不然時光稍縱即逝。詩人站在男性視角上，希望女孩好好把握時機，在適時趕上愛情的班車，否則錯過了就再難挽回。

Fresh spring the herald of loves mighty king,

清新的春天，你這愛情的先驅(qū)，高傲的帝王，

In whose cote armour richly are displayd

輝煌的臂章在閃耀

All sort of flowers the which on earth do spring

叢花因此在大地綻放

In goodly colours gloriously array.

以鮮艷的顏色及炫麗的姿態(tài)。

Goe to my love, where she is careless layd,

去找尋吾愛，她正隨意地躺著，

Yet in her winters bowre not well awake:

在她冬日的閨房還沒有蘇醒：

Tell her the joyous time wil not be staid

告訴她快樂的時光不會為她停留

Unless she doe him by the forelock take.①

除非她抓住了時間的尾巴。

Bid her therefore her selfe soone ready make,

To wayt on love amongst his lovely crew：
