1、Woven baskets characterized by a particular distinctive pattern have previously been found only in the immediate vicinity of the prehistoric village of Palea and therefore were believed to have been made only by the Palean people. Recently, however, archaeologists discovered such a "Palean" basket in Lithos, an ancient village across the Brim River from Palea. The Brim River is very deep and broad, and so the ancient Paleans could have crossed it only by boat, and no Palean boats have been found. Thus it follows that the so-called Palean baskets were not uniquely Palean.
Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.
1、之前，Woven baskets僅在史前Palea附近發(fā)現(xiàn)，有可能是在其他地方也有而暫時(shí)還沒被人發(fā)現(xiàn)。文章并沒有提供證據(jù)證明其他地方?jīng)]有，即使是能夠提供證據(jù)證明當(dāng)今其他地方?jīng)]有也并不能說明很久以前其他地方?jīng)]有。
2、我們發(fā)現(xiàn)的是現(xiàn)在Woven baskets在史前的Palea附近，但是史前它就在這里嗎？也許是在別的地方制作而由于外力比如人或者河流、大海的搬運(yùn)作用而移動(dòng)到現(xiàn)在的地方。所以，不能說明它是Palean people制作的。
3、Brim River現(xiàn)在很寬很深并不代表它在以前也很寬很深，所以不能推斷Palean people當(dāng)時(shí)只能通過船渡過它。即使它當(dāng)時(shí)確實(shí)也是很寬很深，Palean people也可能會(huì)有除了坐船的其他的辦法來渡過這條河流，比如游泳啊，張健都橫渡了英吉利海峽。而且在那發(fā)現(xiàn)的也未必一定需要人帶過去，也許是它自己順著河流漂過去的。
4、沒有船被發(fā)現(xiàn)不代表當(dāng)時(shí)的人沒有穿啊，也許是暫時(shí)還沒有發(fā)現(xiàn)，或者船經(jīng)歷了太長時(shí)間被腐化了。
