Today, more and more people use robots to do tasks at home and at work. Do you think it is a positive or negative development? Give reasons for your opinion.

Human beings have benefited immensely from technological innovations. At present, robots of various functions and forms are becoming indispensable parts in our every-day life. ?Though there are some complaints about the problems they bring, I personally believe that robots produce more positive results to both work and life.

Fist of all, robots largely freed people from repetitive and mechanical work, which are usually physically demanding. For instance, the wide use of computerized home appliances such as robot cleaner and rice cooker saves people a lot of time and energy from doing housework, which enables them to focus on more meaningful and valuable things, like developing their personal interests, doing exercise to keep fit or accompanying family members. From this sense, the application of home-based robots helps humans to live a more comfortable life.? ?

In addition, with the introduction of numerous robotic machines, the productivity in manufacturing ?industries would be greatly promoted. As robots are well-designed and programmed to perform specific task, more accurate and reliable performance can be produced without human involvement. Thus, it minimizes the chance of flawed results. Besides, unlike human beings, robotic machines never feel physically tired and have no emotional problems, so they can work continuously without rest, which is apparently beneficial to boost the yield of industrial production.

However, some people are concerned that the increasing reliance on robots and other smart devices could lead to laziness and high unemployment rate as more human jobs are taken by robots, but it’s also noticeable that more innovative job opportunities have been created along with the introduction of various technological products. Historically, new technologies have been robust engines to boost social progress, therefore I believe that with more powerful robots being put into use, a better economy and more comfortable life can be expected.??
