這首歌最初是英國(guó)的Mike Oldfield創(chuàng)作的，很多網(wǎng)上的資料都說(shuō)這首歌是紀(jì)念被槍殺的John Lennon ..
On December 8th 1980, in front of the Dakota, a supposed fan, Mark David Chapman, fired five shots, hitting John in the chest. By the time he arrived at the hospital, John Lennon was dead.
1980年12月8日，馬克·查普曼偽裝成一個(gè)歌迷，在列儂的公寓旁邊徘徊了很久。那天晚上，當(dāng)列儂從錄音棚返回家中的時(shí)候，查普曼請(qǐng)列儂在他的簽字本上簽名。當(dāng)時(shí)他內(nèi)心曾進(jìn)行過(guò)激烈的斗爭(zhēng)，但最后仍然舉起手槍朝著列儂的后背連開了5槍。
和Moonlight Shadow中所寫的He was shot six times by a man on the run倒是有點(diǎn)類似
也有人說(shuō)這首歌應(yīng)該和John Lennon的被刺并沒(méi)有直接聯(lián)系
似乎男主角死于一場(chǎng)決斗中，這倒象是普希金，但不知道普希金的妻子娜達(dá)麗亞會(huì)不會(huì)這樣來(lái)懷念他。
曾經(jīng)有國(guó)外的歌迷透露，Oldfield說(shuō)起這首歌的靈感來(lái)源于Tony Curtis主演的電影Houdini。
霍迪尼傳(Houdini)是美國(guó)派拉蒙公司于1953年7月2日上映的電影，故事梗概如下：在舉世聞名的幻覺(jué)大師哈利胡迪尼逝世十年后，他的遺孀貝絲找上一位靈媒,來(lái)為她召喚亡夫的鬼魂，之后便以倒敘手法回顧胡迪尼傳奇的一生。
也有人說(shuō)創(chuàng)作這首歌的、才華出眾但卻憂郁無(wú)比的Mike Oldfield未必有所特指。
或許沒(méi)必要多去考證了，只需要靜靜溶入歌中空靈純凈的月光中即可。
