Education doesn't make you happy, and nor does freedom.

We don't become happy just because we're free——if we are. Or because we've been educated – if we have. But because education may be the means by which we realize we are happy.

It opens our eyes, our ears, tells us where delights are lurking, convinces us that there is only one freedom of any importance whatsoever, that of the mind, and gives us the assurance – the confidence —to walk the path our mind, our educated mind, offers.

教育本身無法讓我們快樂，

自由亦不能。

我們不快樂，

恰是因為自由——如果有的話，

或是因為教育——如果有過的話。

但是，

教育或許是一種手段，

唯此，

我們才能察覺到我們的快樂。

它豐富我們的所見所聞，

然后，

我們才能發(fā)現(xiàn)快樂所在。

它讓我們確信，

這世上只有一種自由最為珍貴，

那就是我們的思想。

每個接受教育的人，

其思想都能指引其前進的路，

在這條路上，

步伐堅定，

自信從容。
