1. 舉例來說：e.g.

學(xué)單字、片語的時(shí)候一定會(huì)看到很多例句，作筆記的時(shí)候是否就順手寫了 “e.x." 呢？其實(shí)這是錯(cuò)的！

舉例來說是 for instance/for example，必須寫成 e.g.

這是是拉丁文 exempli gratia 的縮寫，常見的 e.x. 是完全錯(cuò)誤的寫法喔！

至于 ex. 則是名詞，是 example 的縮寫。

另外，e.g. 通常只用于書寫，口語上還是以 for example/instance 為主。

?Johnny likes various music genres, e.g., classical, rock, and jazz.

?=Johnny likes various music genres, for example, classical, rock, and jazz.

?強(qiáng)尼喜歡各種不同類型的音樂，例如：經(jīng)典、搖滾、爵士樂。

來看看第二個(gè)例子。

2. 對決：vs. / vs / v.

想說 A 對決 B 的時(shí)候我們常常會(huì)用到 vs.但你是不是不知不覺就寫錯(cuò)了呢？這個(gè)字是 versus 的縮寫，可以寫成 vs. 或 vs 或 v.，就是絕對不能寫 v.s.！

3. 等等：etc.

看到 “etc." 千萬不要一個(gè)字一個(gè)字念！它是拉丁文 et cetera 的縮寫，相當(dāng)于 and so on / and so forth.

注意標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號的使用！

It would be great if you could bring cakes, buns, donuts, etc. to the picnic.

=It would be great if you could bring cakes, buns, donuts and so on to the picnic.

若你來野餐的時(shí)候能帶些蛋糕、小圓面包、甜甜圈等等的話，那就太棒了！

4. 換句話說：i.e.

相當(dāng)于 in other words 或 that is to say，指在陳述同一件事，但想用不同的方式進(jìn)一步說明，因此跟“舉例”的 e.g. 是不同的喔！不要搞錯(cuò)了。

It’s a boot which is synthetic, i.e., not leather.

這雙靴子是人工皮，也就是說他不是真皮。

5. 也就是：aka

aka 是 also known as 的縮寫，意思是“也就是”，注意不要寫成 a.k.a 啰！

aka 跟 i.e. 不一樣的地方在于，aka 用在兩個(gè)對等的事物，而 i.e. 則有進(jìn)一步補(bǔ)充說明的意思。

Steve Ervin, aka The Crocodile Hunter, died after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb.

Steve Ervin，也就是鱷魚先生，在被魔鬼魚的毒鉤刺入胸部后身亡。

6. 有限公司：Co., Ltd / CO., LTD.

有限公司是 company limited，可以寫成 Co., Ltd 或 CO., LTD. 標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號部分一定要仔細(xì)注意??！
