不定冠詞和定冠詞
不定冠詞
a, ?an
非特定單數(shù)名詞前用冠詞a 和 an 。這些冠詞意味著one. 。
當(dāng)辨別某事物時(shí)，使用 a 和 an 。
It's a shop. 這是一家商店。
那是個(gè)商店，但我們不知道是哪一家。不是特定的。
在以元音開頭的名詞或形容詞前用 an。
It's an expensive shop.
這是一家很貴的商店。
It's an office. ? 這是一間辦公室。
there is與不定冠詞搭配使用
There's a big park in New York.
紐約有一個(gè)大公園。
There's a new fridge.
有一臺(tái)新冰箱。

定冠詞
the
特指的單數(shù)或復(fù)數(shù)名詞
出現(xiàn)在名詞之前的形容詞的前面用冠詞the 。
the用于被稱之為獨(dú)一無二的地方，比如說the earth。
I live in the building over there.
我住在那邊的大樓里。
（談話者在談?wù)撘粋€(gè)特定的建筑，就是那邊的那個(gè)。）
It's the Empire State Building.
這是帝國大廈。
（帝國大廈是獨(dú)一無二的。世上僅有一座。）
The shops in Paris are expensive.
巴黎的商店很貴。
（談話者在談?wù)摼唧w的商店，那些在巴黎的商店。）
描述房子或公寓的特征
形容詞：large, small, new, old, lovely, beautiful...
比如要描述我們家的房子特征：
My bedroom is large.
我的臥室很大。
The living room has a lot of light.
客廳光線充足。
The kitchen has a microwave.
廚房里有一臺(tái)微波爐。
有許多描述住所的常用形容詞。和它們的反義詞一起識(shí)記很有用。
1. comfortable - uncomfortable
This sofa is very comfortable.
這張沙發(fā)非常舒適。
It's an uncomfortable chair.
這把椅子坐著很不舒服。
2. modern - old
I prefer modern buildings.
我喜歡現(xiàn)代建筑。
His house is very old.
他的房子很老了。
3. clean - dirty
His apartment is always clean.
他的公寓始終干凈整潔。
I can't live in a dirty house.
我不能住在骯臟的房子里。
4. safe - dangerous
It's a safe city to live in.
這是一座適合居住的安全城市。
I live in a dangerous neighborhood.

5. noisy - quiet
New York City is so noisy!

My street is very quiet.
