前幾天在旅途中，我一直在隨機(jī)聽(tīng)我手機(jī)里下載的歌曲。有一首歌把一段陳年往事從記憶中拉出來(lái)，這首歌是后街男孩唱的Spanish Eyes，這段往事是我剛開(kāi)始努力學(xué)英語(yǔ)的記錄。

這幾個(gè)月，我一直在寫(xiě)關(guān)于“聽(tīng)英文歌學(xué)英語(yǔ)”的推文。作為這個(gè)方法的受益者，我覺(jué)得這個(gè)方法可以推薦給那些真的很想學(xué)好英語(yǔ)的讀者，而選歌，也是一個(gè)需要花功夫的過(guò)程。當(dāng)年的我，誤打誤撞地聽(tīng)了很多對(duì)英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)很有幫助的歌，這些歌的共同點(diǎn)是：

歌手吐字清晰；

歌詞的詞語(yǔ)比較初級(jí)，句法結(jié)構(gòu)不復(fù)雜

節(jié)奏快慢適中，跟正常聊天的速度不相上下；

旋律耐聽(tīng)，愿意聽(tīng)很多遍

大多都是愛(ài)情歌，正是情竇初開(kāi)時(shí)

我學(xué)英語(yǔ)學(xué)得比較晚，上初一才開(kāi)始學(xué)，而且開(kāi)始的時(shí)候除了發(fā)音規(guī)則跟老師好好學(xué)了基本上掌握住了，跟詞匯和句法相關(guān)的知識(shí)根本就沒(méi)學(xué)明白，詞性不分，句子寫(xiě)得錯(cuò)誤百出??????作為英語(yǔ)老師，我都不好意思告訴你們我的英語(yǔ)曾經(jīng)有多么渣，然而正是因?yàn)槲医?jīng)歷過(guò)那個(gè)階段，I’ve been there，所以我才知道哪些資料對(duì)英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)有幫助。我每周推薦的英文歌里，都有很多語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)是建立在你們已經(jīng)存在的英語(yǔ)體系上的，也就是說(shuō)你們只是知道這些知識(shí)的存在，但是還沒(méi)有把它們內(nèi)化——from declarative knowledge to procedural knowledge, you must practice as often as you can（從知道到會(huì)用，你們必須盡可能多地練習(xí)）。繼續(xù)跟著我聽(tīng)英文歌學(xué)英語(yǔ)，平時(shí)多留心和積累，你也很可能會(huì)和我一樣從一個(gè)完整的句子都說(shuō)不出來(lái)到雅思口語(yǔ)8分??????

Here we are是一個(gè)不太好翻譯的說(shuō)法，在口語(yǔ)中一般把它當(dāng)做一個(gè)discourse marker，在開(kāi)始下一個(gè)話題前說(shuō)，跟well差不多。

e.g.

Here we are, outside the office, so what did you want to talk to me about?

好了，咱們不在辦公室里了， 你剛才要跟我聊什么呢？

Here I am, at my 30th birthday party, and I feel as if I were still 21.

在我自己30歲生日party上，我還覺(jué)得自己才21歲。

（大概也許可能是我的心聲）??????

in the arms of each other，是個(gè)很形象的說(shuō)法，直譯成“在彼此的胳膊里”，這么說(shuō)明顯很別扭。其實(shí)是“在彼此的胳膊環(huán)繞成的空間里”，也就是“彼此相擁”。

?至于為什么是“西班牙的眼睛”，我想你看了下面的圖片大概就明白了~

我從未有過(guò)這樣的感受

它來(lái)自于內(nèi)心深處

它告訴我

我是何其幸運(yùn)

我知道我要做的

就是每當(dāng)我想看著你的西班牙眼睛時(shí)

向你伸出我的手

a place I’ve been (to) 和I’ve been there一般都不取place這個(gè)詞的本意，而是引申義，理解成“我也經(jīng)歷過(guò)這樣的事情/我也有過(guò)這樣的感受”。英語(yǔ)中還有一句安慰人的話BTDT （Been there done that)，即“我也經(jīng)歷過(guò)類(lèi)似的事情，也做過(guò)類(lèi)似的事情”，其實(shí)，“感同身受”是最難得的安慰。

to win the first prize，中頭獎(jiǎng)，也就是說(shuō)“三生有幸遇見(jiàn)你”。

這里要跟大家分享一個(gè)我覺(jué)得很有意思的說(shuō)法，跟上面的說(shuō)法有些類(lèi)似。“What have I done to deserve you?”怎么理解呢？a. 我何德何能，此生擁有你；b. 我這是造了什么孽，攤上了你。其實(shí)兩種理解都有道理，而且這句話如果是情侶說(shuō)給彼此的，那么開(kāi)始的時(shí)候都是a理解，一切美得不像話, too good to be true，然后時(shí)間久了就很可能成為b理解，怎么看都不順眼，彼時(shí)的柔情似水，此時(shí)的不能承受之黏糊。??????

to reach out one’s hand to sb.向某人伸出手，在這首歌的語(yǔ)境下是說(shuō)“向你告白”，但是這個(gè)說(shuō)法也可以是“伸出援手”或者“握手言和”。

e.g.

He reached out his hand to me when I was in trouble.

他在我需要幫助的時(shí)候伸出援手。

I reached out my hand to him first after the big fight because I loved him too much to lose him.

那次爭(zhēng)吵之后，我主動(dòng)找他講和，因?yàn)槲覑?ài)他不想失去他。

?Let it be if we're nothing more than dreamers

如果我們只是在做夢(mèng)，就夢(mèng)著吧

誰(shuí)會(huì)相信我們只能看到彼此

let it be就是“順其自然”的意思，Beatles有首歌就叫這個(gè)名字，平時(shí)在口語(yǔ)中也經(jīng)常用作安慰別人的話。

we are nothing more than dreamers = we are simply dreamers這里可以看到，more than不止能夠去表達(dá)“比…多”的意義。

e.g.

I am so much more than a friend to her.

我于她的意義可不只是個(gè)朋友。

What he said is a little more than a joke for me.

他說(shuō)的我在我看來(lái)跟笑話差不多。

to see no one between us = there are only the two of us這里的see很形象地表達(dá)出了熱戀中的人那種“目中無(wú)別人，處處撒狗糧”的狀態(tài)??????

And the world is so beautiful tonight

我曾經(jīng)遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)地愛(ài)著你

我那時(shí)以為我無(wú)法走得足夠遠(yuǎn)（到你身邊）

我不敢相信我們現(xiàn)在相聚如此之近

當(dāng)我看著你的西班牙眼睛

世界今夜如此美麗

這一段在理解的時(shí)候要注意時(shí)態(tài)，loved, thought, couldn’t,表明“曾經(jīng)”的狀態(tài)，而can’t, are, look, is表明了“現(xiàn)在”的狀態(tài)。所以這一段在表達(dá)這個(gè)墜入愛(ài)河的小伙子看著眼前這位有著迷人的西班牙眼睛的姑娘，不敢相信這是現(xiàn)實(shí)，彼時(shí)的暗戀，此時(shí)的相擁——what has he done to deserve her?

from a distance,從遠(yuǎn)處，可以把整個(gè)短語(yǔ)理解成一個(gè)副詞，其相反的說(shuō)法是up close。

e.g.

I loved you from a distance, but now, here I am, up close to you, looking at you into your eyes, telling you how long and how much I’ve been in love with you.

我曾在遠(yuǎn)處暗戀你，但現(xiàn)在，我離你如此之近，看著你的眼睛，告訴你，我已經(jīng)愛(ài)你太久太深。

哎呀呀，這一篇推文寫(xiě)完，我的少女心都被喚醒了??????聽(tīng)這首歌的時(shí)候我上初三，英語(yǔ)才剛剛開(kāi)始有些起色，因?yàn)槁?tīng)得多讀得多，也有了一些語(yǔ)感，雖然不知所以然，我還是記住了這些歌詞，后來(lái)整個(gè)高中時(shí)代，這首歌，還要幾首其他的英文情歌，都暖著我的那顆粉紅色的少女心——初戀大多是沒(méi)有結(jié)果的，暗戀尤其如此，但是，回憶是美好的，especially when it is the boy who I had a crush on who inspired me to learn English well.

Well, when in love, you see no one between you and the one you are in love with. You may crave a love story that is epic, with blood shed and life ruined. Or you may simply want one that is uneventful, three meals a day, a few lines of conversations every now and then. Either way, it’s your story and it’s up to you and the significant other of yours. 身陷愛(ài)情的你，看不見(jiàn)除你和ta之外的人。你也許渴望一場(chǎng)轟轟烈烈的愛(ài)情，不天荒地老不痛快；或者你只想要平淡入水的愛(ài)情，一日三餐，偶爾只言片語(yǔ)的交流。不管怎樣，這是你的故事，由你和你的ta來(lái)書(shū)寫(xiě)。在彼此的眼中，有你們不想錯(cuò)過(guò)的故事。
