Beethoven

I want to tightly grip the throat of destiny, it must not let you give in!

#小本本:grip the throat of sth,抓住某些要緊的事物。

“I'm always ready to enjoy the love of my admirer.”

“Though still inbed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, Be calm–loveme–today–yesterday–what tearful longings for you–you–you–my life–myall–farewell.?

Oh continue to love me–never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved. Ever thine. Ever mine. Ever ours.”

Be calm–loveme–today–yesterday–what tearful longings for you–you–you–my life–myall–farewell.

longings for--渴望

Ever thine. Ever mine.

"my angel, my all, my very self -- only a few words today and at that with your pencil -- not till tomorrow will my lodgings be definitely determined upon --what a useless waste of time. "

useless waste of time--浪費(fèi)時(shí)間

my angel, my all, my very self?--撩妹tip3:多背名句!

"why this deep sorrow where necessity speaks -- can our love endure except through sacrifices -- except through not demanding everything -- can you change it that you are not wholly mine, i not wholly thine??"

except through sacrifices -- except through not demanding everything

sacrifice, sacrifice your art and all your life! art is god above all things!

Shakespeare

I love thee, I love but thee; with a love that shall not die; till the sun grows cold and the stars grow old.

Doubt thou the stars are fire;

Doubt that the sun doth move;

Doubt truth to be a liar;

But never doubt I love

----From Hamlet

One half of me is yours, the other half yours-

Mine own, I would say; but if mine, then yours,

And so all yours!

When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.

Good night, good night! parting is such sweet sorrow,

That I shall say good night till it be morrow.

-----From Romeo and Juliet

Just that, therefore, which she meant merely to indicate faintly to him or really to conceal from him entirely, namely that even before the

choice of the lot she was his and loved him, this the poet-with admirable psychological delicacy of feeling-makes apparent by her slip; and is

able, by this artistic device, to quiet the unbearable uncertainty of the lover, as well as the equal suspense of the audience as to the issue of the

choice.

Notice, at the end. how subtly Portia reconciles the two declarations which are contained in the slip, how she resolves the contradiction between them and finally still manages to keep her promise:

“... but if mine, then yours,

And so all yours.”

above all things!
