As a great philosopher, educator, and politician, Confucius was also the founder of Confucianism, which still has a tremendous influence on people today. Confucianism is not a jumble of Confucius’ personal views but a set of moral principles that goes by the name.? Confucianism seems to be back in fashion again. Why?

Confucianism has extensive application in Chinese society because there is more practical value in Confucianism. As well as the individual’s social responsibility for their country, Confucianism stresses fairness and harmony in human relationships. Some companies lend tacit support to Confucianism for they are using Confucianism as a management tool to their liking. In the same way, the government is also promoting the Confucian values of ethics, fairness, and honesty.

At the apex of Confucianism is the concept of benevolence, which is essential to spiritual fulfillment. People hold to the truth that Confucianism is a way to address the social problems that have emerged as a result of the accelerated economic growth. Furthermore, Confucianism emphasizes "courtesy" and "respect" when dealing with people or nature, so in this fashion it should be very beneficial for building harmony in any society.

Within the global village, harmony is, indeed, essential to cope with the cultural differences. That’s why there is an increasing awareness of Confucianism in China as well as in other parts of the world. People are trying to find answers in Confucianism to pry away from today’s political, cultural, and environmental crises.
