Up until now, some people hold that the top priority is supposed to give to economic development instead of environmental protection. In order to dispel widely repeated criticism, they argue that environmental problems are inevitable and unavoidable in the process of economic development as if there is no need to consider them at all.

In developing countries, the economic development depletes the earth’s resources, generates greenhouse gases, and increases energy bills, which poses the biggest threat to the environment. With global warming becoming one of the current trends, more and more people have a feeling of unease over climate change.

In fact, the economic development is more than modern architectural icons, the design-led architecture and urban landscape. Any initiative to raise awareness of environmental protection should be encouraged so that the economic development can be in harmony with local needs and culture. What’s more, eco-friendly principles should be considered in the economic development.

What is the point of economic development if man achieves it at the cost of the environment? Economic development should go along the lines of environmental protection.
