base這個詞是可以做動詞的，通常于on搭配，base sth on other thing. 這件事是基于某件事。

get up to speed with/on sth，是一個固定短語，表示跟上什么事情的進(jìn)度，或者說了解最新情況。

turn up 出現(xiàn)，出席。于show up, 或者present 的意思比較接近。
