1.“someone”指一群人中的某個非具體的成員?!皊omeone”比“somebody”更為正式。指不認(rèn)識的人或通過名詞提到的人。例如:
a. Will?someone?answer the phone, please?
請問有人接電話嗎?
b.?Someone?will help you.
有人會幫助你。
c.?Someone?arrived at the meeting late.
有人開會遲到了。
2.“some one”是指我們從一群人或一組事物中選擇的某個非具體的成員,重點在于圈定一組成員,再指其中某個成員。
需要記住一點,當(dāng)我們使用“some one”的時候,后面往往接“of+名詞短語”,或者在前面已有圈定這組選擇的成員,否則,應(yīng)當(dāng)使用“someone”。例如:
a.?Some one?of the students was asking my question.
這群學(xué)生中有人正在問我問題。
b. We know that?some one?of the new robots has a defect, but we're not sure which.
我們知道一些新機器人有缺陷,但我們不確定是哪一個。
c. Presently her ear distinguished individual voices and she became aware that?some one?referred to scornfully as “that North guy” had kidnapped a waiter from a café in Cannes last night in order to saw him in two.
不一會兒,她的耳朵便分辨出了一個女子的聲音,她說,就在昨晚,有一個被眾人蔑稱為“北方佬”的人,在Cannes的咖啡館里綁架了一名服務(wù)員,預(yù)備將他鋸為兩半。
