Purposeful practice: Get outside your comfort zone but do it in a focused way, with clear goals, a plan for reaching those goals, and a way to monitor your progress, and figure out a way to maintain your motivation.

Summary

The author compares naive practice and purposeful practice. Naive practice is just repeating the practice without a clear aim. Purposeful practice has well-defined and specific goals. It requires being focused, having meaningful positive feedback and stepping outside your comfort zone. However, purposeful practice still has limitation. People could not directly copy others experience. Everyone needs to tailor their own approach.
