華盛頓大學(xué)(UW/University of Washington)的設(shè)計(jì)專(zhuān)業(yè)Design(*基礎(chǔ)課Design 166只對(duì)西雅圖校區(qū)開(kāi)放)由文理學(xué)院College of Arts and Sciences下的School of Art + Art History +Design提供,BDes有三個(gè)專(zhuān)業(yè):

3 Visual Communication Design(視覺(jué)傳播設(shè)計(jì))

| 專(zhuān)業(yè)介紹

在了解這些專(zhuān)業(yè)之前,先要區(qū)分:“交互設(shè)計(jì)”和“視覺(jué)傳播設(shè)計(jì)”有什么不同?

首先我們看UW對(duì)交互設(shè)計(jì)的解釋?zhuān)?/p>

Interaction DesignCredential OverviewInteraction Designers define the structure and behavior of interactive products and services. Interaction Designers create compelling relationships between people and the interactive systems they use, from computers to mobile devices to appliances; Interaction Designers lay the groundwork for intangible experiences. The need for interaction designers for the development of new interactive products, systems and services has increased exponentially in recent years in virtually all industries. Interactive systems are present in many areas in everyday life where people coordinate tasks and engage in activities in collaboration with others, facilitated through technology. Examples range from mobile phones to computer software, from GPS systems for cars or navigation in the open ocean, and information systems that support the work of expert practitioners in technology-driven domains such as aviation, medicine, and process control.

“交互設(shè)計(jì)”要點(diǎn):(1)關(guān)注客戶(hù)體驗(yàn),以人本出發(fā),關(guān)注人和產(chǎn)品/服務(wù)的互動(dòng)關(guān)系。用操作的自然性和界面的直觀性構(gòu)建智能系統(tǒng)。(2)設(shè)計(jì)功能、結(jié)構(gòu)、流程和輸入輸出。(3)通過(guò)技術(shù)驅(qū)動(dòng)來(lái)解決問(wèn)題,工程師定義世界。面向平板、電腦、移動(dòng)設(shè)備、電器、汽車(chē)等各種終端。

UW對(duì)Visual Communication Design的解釋?zhuān)?/p>

Credential OverviewThe Visual Communication Design program educates and trains designers for the communication needs of industry and society. Emphasis is placed on the conception, creation, planning and realization of visual solutions to complex problems in contemporary culture. Students integrate methodology, prototyping, aesthetics, human factors, technology, materials, context and audience to develop strategies and solutions that give form to print, screen and the built environment. Faculty emphasize the objectives of design rather than the process of production, and encourage innovative visual ideas that inform, interpret, instruct or persuade the intended user across the spectrum of application.

要點(diǎn):(1)考慮美學(xué)、人本、技術(shù)、材料、環(huán)境和受眾,構(gòu)思、創(chuàng)作、規(guī)劃和實(shí)現(xiàn)解決方案。(2)通常是印刷品、屏幕和建筑環(huán)境等表現(xiàn)形式。(3)強(qiáng)調(diào)設(shè)計(jì),而不是生產(chǎn)過(guò)程,鼓勵(lì)創(chuàng)新的視覺(jué)想法。

| 專(zhuān)業(yè)比較

三個(gè)專(zhuān)業(yè)的主要課程要求

從專(zhuān)業(yè)課來(lái)看兩者的區(qū)別“交互設(shè)計(jì)”關(guān)注“互動(dòng)”/人通過(guò)信息系統(tǒng)和智能設(shè)備解決某一問(wèn)題;“視覺(jué)傳播”關(guān)注“呈現(xiàn)”/通過(guò)多媒體元素對(duì)品牌、公司形象、文化、概念的向受眾表達(dá)。

同一院校的類(lèi)似專(zhuān)業(yè)有如上差別,同一專(zhuān)業(yè)在不同院校自己也會(huì)有差別。

比如交互設(shè)計(jì)在不同院校:(目前理解不斷修正)

(1)羅德島、皇藝、倫藝、芝加哥等,學(xué)院派,高冷、唯美、天馬行空,更加偏向于藝術(shù)表現(xiàn)與概念,追求藝術(shù)性、獨(dú)創(chuàng)和新穎;

(2)帕森斯、普瑞特、ACCD、CCA,理念派,這類(lèi)學(xué)校的設(shè)計(jì)和商業(yè)實(shí)踐結(jié)合得更緊密,會(huì)更注重設(shè)計(jì)過(guò)程,你的設(shè)計(jì)方法是什么,流程怎么樣,你的方案解決什么問(wèn)題,給人帶來(lái)什么,最終改變了什么,有什么樣的價(jià)值?更加注重思想性、方法論和跨學(xué)科的創(chuàng)新;

(3)綜合類(lèi)院校,技術(shù)派,卡梅,佐治亞理工,華盛頓西雅圖,密西根安娜堡等,這些學(xué)校的工科很強(qiáng),你必須要技術(shù)有一定的理解和掌控力,帶一些科幻思維的突破,代碼/工具/結(jié)構(gòu)上等細(xì)節(jié)的要求會(huì)高一些,通常是一種可實(shí)現(xiàn)/接近實(shí)現(xiàn)的方案??偨Y(jié)起來(lái)就是藝術(shù)-理念-技術(shù)三角形,不同的院校在這三個(gè)方面也有側(cè)重。

華大的交互設(shè)計(jì)專(zhuān)業(yè)本科,學(xué)生們是不能直接申請(qǐng)的。而是分為兩種情況,一種是進(jìn)入學(xué)校(西雅圖分校)后選擇華大的Design 166這門(mén)課,當(dāng)這門(mén)課GPA高于3.7時(shí),你會(huì)被學(xué)校自動(dòng)錄到交互設(shè)計(jì)專(zhuān)業(yè)。若低于3.7, 則需要參加華大暑期的Design Entrance Workshop完成作業(yè)再接受審核評(píng)定。
